How to make a Doily
A  Mini -Tutorial by Celia Martin

The lace tubes are so much fun to work with -- here's how I made my Lace Medallions

These instructions are for Paint Shop Pro 6, but should work  for most comparable programs.
It requires Simple Filters' Pizza Slice Mirror filter, although
you may be able to use a comparable kaleidoscope effect.

Create a new image, 200x200 pixels, and fill with a background color (so you can see what you're doing!).

Add new layer.

Place tube image, (I used LaceScallop1 in this example), and rotate to the right 90 degrees.

Move lace to lower left corner of image.

Applied Pizza Slice Mirror Filter, and Voila!

You can vary the effect by moving the lace around before applying the filter.  Each of my Lace Medallion tubes has 4 different doilies made from the same piece of lace.

If you try using a different kaleidoscope effect, you'll have to experiment to see which part of the image the filter uses for its sample.

**You may end up with some orphan pixels outside the main image after applying the filter, so you may have to do some tidying.
